In Literacy we have been learning the Characters Maui.

We have looked at the Similarities and Differences of Maui in Different stories. I made an Animation about the Story The Fish Of Maui. I found it kind of hard and challenging. I found Hard.

But it was still fun to do. Well this is my work I hope you like it?.

Understating songs Lyrics

In literacy we have been learning about untamed and the meaning We listened to two songs, they were Treasure By Bruno Mars and Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson.
We discussed and brainstormed the song title meanings.
We then looked at the lyrics and what they meant.
Treasure By Bruno Mars is about A girl that he got  she was a special girl.
Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson is about He has changed  his life.

In reading we are learning to be good readers. To be a good reader you ask questions before, during and after you read something. We are leaning to ask different types of questions. They are Think & search,Author and me,Right there Questions. This week we looked at a photo. As a group we have to come up with some questions about this photo.

Diary of the wimpy kid The last straw

This week we went to the Library and I picked out a book it is called Diary of the wimpy kid The last straw so I am going to read two pages and the pages are pages 100 and 101 I hope you like it.



After dinner mum told me there was a valentine's card out in the mailbox with my name on it. When I asked her who it was from, she just said, 'someone special'. I ran out to the mailbox and got the card, and I have to admit I was pretty excited. I was hoping it was from Holly, but there are at least four or five other girls at my school who I wouldn't mind getting a card from, either. The card was in a big pink envelope with my name written in cursive. I ripped it open, and here's what I found: a sheet of construction paper with a piece of candy taped to it, and it was from ROWLEY. Sometimes I just don't know about that boy.

The other  day dad found manny's blanket, Tingy, on the couch. I don't think dad knew what it was, so he threw it away.




Ever since then Manny's been turning the house upside down looking for his blanket, and finally Dad had to tell him that he accidentally threw it out. Well, Manny got his revenge yesterday by using Dad's civil war battlefield as a playset.

This week in writing we have been leaning to writing slam poems this week I am doing winter. This is my work.

Winter poem

Rain comes down hard and cold from the dark grey clouds.

It drenches my clothes,making me soggy and wet and freezing cold.

Freezing like Antarctic ice.

When it rains it is freezing.

While it  rains I stay inside.

As I go inside from the cold I sit in front of the fire.

After, when the snows goes away I am sad because I love snow.

Before when I go outside I need to put heaps of warm clothes on me.

Sometimes when it is cold I have a scrumptious hot chocolate.

I love snow, but I don't like the cold.

In reading I have been leaning how to predict. I use my prior knowledge and clues from the picture or the text to predict. I  had to use my prior knowledge about being alone in the forest and clues from the picture to predict what would happen next.

Prior Knowledge about being in a forest or woods alone. Trees,leaves rustling on the tree,dark,scared,stars,moss on the trees.

Clues From the Picture The monster is 3 times bigger than the girl. The monster looks like a stuffed teddy bear. The monster is fluffy,has 3 eyes,2 horns,the monster does not  look scary at all.the little girl is skipping,whistling or singing. The monster is trying to hide behind the tree.

My Prediction… What will happen next? The girl will see the monster and ask the monster if it wants to play with her or come back where she came from. She was not scared of the monster.

In reading I am learning to predict. I had to look at the picture and predict what was happening. I use my prior knowledge and clues from the text.

I know that pounamu is shiney as glass and when you find one it feels like water is in my hands.

Boy it is hot today can you feel the hot sun?

Wind is air moving.

Wind is air in motion.

A windstorm is just a storm with high winds or violent gusts but little or no rain.

I like wind when there is warm air but I do not like cold wind.

Wind is so cold and my face is so freezing and my hair is so messy and you can see the trees is like wobbling like a bubble and it’s look crazy and the leaves keep falling.It’s look so good today is so sunny and sometimes is gonna be cloudy and rainy.It’ so cold and windy here!!

Boy it is hot today can you feel the hot sun?

Weather is what happens outside of the window.

Wind is so cold and my face is so freezing and my hair is so messy and you can see the trees is like wobbling like a bubble and it’s look crazy and the leaves keep falling Wind is the air moving.

It’s look so good today is so sunny and sometimes is gonna be cloudy and rainy.It’s so cold and windy here!!

I love rainy days because i like to do inside activities and inside i like to sit next to the fire cozen it is women. Wind is the air moving. Rain is water coming down from the clouds.
